This grant aims to support artist-authors in establishing or improving the archiving system for their works and associated documents. It helps structure, organize, and preserve artistic collections through the use of an appropriate digital tool.
Regardless of the stage of progress of the cataloguing work — whether an inventory already exists or not — this financial aid is intended to encourage the advancement of this work and to promote the use of a relevant digital tool suited to the project’s needs.
The amount of the grant is set at €6,000.
If a cataloguing project has already been initiated, the grant may be used to continue or expand it — for example, by incorporating a new medium or addressing the organization of archives.
For authors of illustrated works (children’s books, comics, etc.), it can fund the inventory of drawings, preparatory boards, or other visual elements within a collection management software.
This grant also represents a first step toward the creation of a catalogue raisonné, regardless of the artistic discipline involved.
Expenses that may be covered include:
The purchase of equipment, up to a maximum of €2,000 (excluding computers, tablets, phones, dehumidifiers, and furniture)
The acquisition of or subscription to software, including installation and setup fees
Digitization, marking of works, or creation of a studio stamp
Payment of assistants or documentalists (research, data entry, indexing, etc.)
Payment to the artist-author or the rights holder
The grant is open to all projects that form part of a sustainable approach to cataloguing and conservation, regardless of the current stage of the archiving work.
Applications may be submitted by:
Members of ADAGP with at least one year of membership.
In the case of multiple heirs, the grant is awarded to the member who submits the application.
Each application must be submitted in French and include the following documents:
A biography or CV of the artist-author (maximum 2 pages, PDF format)
A project presentation outlining the objectives, concept, and stages of implementation (maximum 2 pages, PDF format)
An illustrative portfolio containing around ten representative images of the work (maximum 20 pages, PDF format)
A balanced provisional budget detailing expenses, income, and the intended use of the grant (€6,000)
The signed funding application form by the artist-author or rights holder (form to be downloaded and attached to the application)
